Buying used 98 Winnebago Rv. Power steering noisy with foamy fluid. Also trans downshifts from 2nd to 1st hard

The seller said they had it checked by mechanic and said it was fine. Seller said they were going to take it in for a couple of things which need fixed and would have mechanic call me to explain. The RV is very clean and drives good, but steering is very loud. I heard the transmission could downshift hard for towing reasons on an RV? Have heard it could be pump leak or rack and pinion steering. Any advice please.Buying used 98 Winnebago Rv. Power steering noisy with foamy fluid. Also trans downshifts from 2nd to 1st hard
the foaming in the pump is from air in the system. has the pump or any pressure hoses been changed? If so the unit was not bled properly . In all case of bleeding power steering pumps the vehicle must have the front properly jacked off the ground so you can turn the steering wheel freely with no load on the front axle . also depending on the type power brake system you have this could be problem also. it probably has a bad pump or pressure hose making the air in the system check it out good these can be high labor replacements.Buying used 98 Winnebago Rv. Would have been nice to know which chassis, engine/trans combination you have. Is it diesel or gas?

If its a Ford engine and steering system those are very fluid specific as most systems are.

I would have fluid drained and refilled with correct fluid on power steering..

I guess your describing a hard downshift on the transmission issue. I really can't understand what you are asking?

Maybe try question again with chassis information and better explanation .

If you were asking if a hard downshift is normal for these vehicles. Yes, if it had a shift kit installed..

Is there a leak somewhere and if so, what system? The power steering or transmission?

The quality of answer you get is related to the quality of question, how well you describe problems..
