Immediate Help! Foamy Fish tank!?

Today we put distilled water in a one gallon filtered fish tank. Now it's foaming. What does it mean and what should we do? Is it bad?Immediate Help! Foamy Fish tank!?
Distilled water won't foam. Most likely this is due to something else in the tank. Or you have a betta and he is building a bubble nest to mark his territory.

PS- Distilled water is bad for fish it's too acidic, too soft, and lacks minerals. Just remember that quick changes are bad even if they are in the right direction.

PPS- If this is a betta (aka siamese fighting fish)

If not

as long as nothing in the tank was cleaned with soap its perfectly ok. i had the exact same problem i a 20 gallon it looked like a bubble bath! but now its thriving with eels and cichlids.it does go away but it may take awhile. if it did have soap i recommend dumpig out the water and putting boiling water in it to remove chemicals. the first fish you put in should be a cheap tester fish (mollies etc.) good luck!
