Hey there, i bought my first protein powder earlier today, tried it and it tasted awful. like reallly foamy. heres what i did..

Added told amount of powder into blender

Added told amount of COLD water into blender

Thought it would taste plain so added a few ML of strawberry Yogurt

Blended for a minute

Drank and tasted awful.

I probably missed a few things and just wasted about a cup of powder

draining it down the sink.. i did manage to drink like half of it but it felt like if i drank the rest i'd throw up.

so yeah can anyone who has had experiences like this help me out? thanks a bunch

Protein shake tastes horrible (foamy)
if you add a some more water it really helps.Protein shake tastes horrible (foamy)
They all taste bad, nothing you can do about that. to help with the foamyness use milk, makes it taste a little better to. second add peanut butter. get extra protien and it helps with the taste. third, put on a bib, be and down in. Dont sip it or take alot of little drinks, just guzzle the whole thing. I really like the stuff i am taking now and it taste funny and will only mix well in a blender and that is to much of a hazzle so i get a just down a big glass of it in one shot.
Seriously.

ALL protein powder is the same.

The one I use, I add a scoop to a cup of wtaer, have to shake the container for at least a minute, and choke it down.

Once, I did it with milk, and there was chunks.

Oh yeah, chunks.

Anywho, they all taste disgusting, but they work, don't give up on them, they will help you.
I tried samples of different protein shakes at the gym... and my god they were all horrible! I thought they would taste like a slim fast.

But it's actually not healthy to add extra protein to your diet. It leads to increased calcium in your urine which means your pissing out your calcium. This puts your bones at risk. It's also harmful to your kidneys. PLUS the North American diet provides you with MORE then enough protein already.
i think you put in WAYY too much powder

but if you feel like shakes aren't your thing, you can use protein powder to make protein bars instead here are some recipes you can try

good luck with your diet :]

this whole page has recipes that all include protein powder

Try a different brand and don't go adding stuff before you have even tasted it.

do use it...just eat food which are high in protein.

protein shakes give you spot, man boobs and a pot belly.
Taste might be dependent upon the product itself or flavor of it. I can only offer what I do and use---it tastes fine to me and doesnt end up foamy. You might have to experiment a little until you find whats really right for you. Dont give up, nor take just what I give you as gospel, this is really a time you can get creative based on flavors and things you like---ala adding strawberry yogurt.

I use a product called Myoplex---French Vanilla.

I mix it with half cold water and half skim milk, which to me adds a little consistency to it...for both health and taste I add a handful of walnuts, blueberries, one carrot, and two tablespoons of OCRA7 juice...

I blend it up, usually chill it in the fridge for a while and than drink it throughout the day rather than all at once...but again all of this is pure preference...the point being, experiment, both in the product type and flavors, as well as ingredients be they healthy or for taste or both to find what best suits your taste.

Hang in there, once you get it down its easy, and you will look forward to doing it and for whatever health reason you choose to do it, it will keep you motivated to keep doing it when you find the right combo of taste.
